The Mayors Playground 2008

The playground at the corner of Maple and Pine Streets just received a beautiful new "Mayors Playground" sign. This is part of the on-going renovation of the Playground which has been in the works for over 4 years. It is fully funded by donations from individuals, families, grants and businesses in the community.

The "Mayors Playground" features whimsical stone animal statuary benches, all new plantings, a "McGrath Homes" pavilion and real fun playground equipment. Power walkers can pace themselves on the track which encircles the entire park and soccer field. This autumn, a magnificent large granite chess and checker table has been installed for chess enthusiasts. Thank you Garden Club. Bring your own chess pieces.

This autumn, five "Angels" alighted on the grounds and financed 5 more brick pillars to the Maple Avenue side of the Playground. We now need some "Angels" to fly in to finance the wrought-iron fencing between these pillars. This would cost an "Angel" about $13,000 and it would complete the fence in time for spring fun.
